Nathan Tinstman I wish someone could show me ANY evidence the economy has improved, that unemployment has gone down, how Obama "saved" GM who posted a huge loss over the last 2 FQs, how he has improved the situation in Afghanistan by NOT authorizing the troops needed to WIN that war, how Obama has improved the outlook for healthcare by scaring away providers and physicians, how he "earned" a Nobel Peace Prize without even being in office long enough to sign legislation or make any contribution to America, how apologizing for America being a strong and successful nation has been anything but childish pandering to other nations who hate us for being who we are.... I could go on but you get my point. I am not trying to start a fight. I am only expressing my opinion as respectfully as I can. But seriously, I would like to know what foundation you who support this President base your opinions on. I didn't like Bush but this guy flat worries me through his words and more though his actions/inactions.

Roger Molnar Well Nathan, Ill give it a try, although I dont expect you will believe much of what I have to say.
The economy has improved because when Obama took office America was losing 700-800 thousand of jobs a month...... and was climbing..... not because of what Obama did, or because he was in office, but because President Bush damaged America's economy. Unemployment was a lot higher during the Bush administration than what was reported, because they came up with the unemployment number differently..... if you were out of work more than 3 months, you werent counted under Bush.... but those people are counted under Obama.
You do know Nathan.... 1/3 of the stimulus package was tax cuts..... 95% of America got a tax cut..... no federal taxes increased for anyone that made less than $250,000 a year...... everyone that worked got a $400 tax credit.... I bet you took that credit didnt you Nathan?
If you follow the news, troops were authorized..... actually more than was was originally asked for..... you must remember, when the military asks for something, they ask for what is needed for the future, not the present.
I doubt that you have lost your doctor Nathan... Im pretty sure if you get sick there is a hospital and clinic that you can go to..... we havent lost any doctors.
The Nobel Peace Prize was presented to Obama.... and not by anyone in this country.... it came from Norway..... how is that Obama's fault?
There was no "apologizing for America being a strong and successful nation"..... the things that Obama did apologize for was.... ignoring the world and facts by invading Iraq.... torturing prisoners.... discarding the "rule of law"...... disrespecting those that disagreed...... What is a fact Nathan.... the world thinks higher of America with Obama being President than they did with Bush in charge.
the foundation that I support President Obama is this...... President Obama is looking out for the American people..... not the rich... not the powerful.... but people like you and me.
My question to you Nathan.... what has the Republican party done for you that makes you follow them so blindly? for 6 years they controlled both houses of congress and the presidency..... but they did nothing but start wars, help the rich and destroy the economy.... how did they help you Nathan?

Nathan Tinstman I never said I was a Republican. That would imply that I am a brainless zombie that follows the crowd. I do not particularly care for the Republican machine as I don't see a difference between it and the democrat party. Both prefer to line their pockets with my money and show me the door in exchange. All in all I don't see how Obama has ever looked out for me or you by extension. He has shown repeatedly that he cares about himself and those in his circle. Allowing the banking industry to pocket the TARP money instead of buying up the toxic assets it was approved for. His stimulus did not create the jobs he promised. In fact he pulled a Bush and tried to intimidate the American people by saying that if the TARP bill wasn't passed (before anybody read it) the economy would collapse and unemployment would top 8%. Look where we are 10%+. If he wanted to follow through on his promises during the campaign he would never have thrown Special Interest groups in front of the American people. Look at his cabinet. It is full of bankers and former Goldman Sachstop executives. How is that keeping the promise of not letting special interest dictate policy?
How is shutting out the American people during critical debate on legislation being transparent? I'm sorry but if you have 60% of the debate behind closed doors then you need a dictionary cause that isn't transparency. How is he any different than Bush when he pays off members of Congress to get what he wants (IE the Healthcare bill)? How exactly does a VAT tax, his new pet project, not raising taxes on those making under $250,000?
When the Generals on the ground in Afghanistan came to Obama, after 4 previous attempts, they requested 40,000 troops immediately to ensure we do not fail in Afghanistan (their words not mine) and Obama delayed making a decision for nearly 60 days only to give them 75% of what they requested. I don't know if you have friends or family there but I do. I have 2 of my closest high school friends there and 2 in Iraq. To delay an "urgent request" from the commanding officer in theatre is insane. I would have applauded taking a day or two to review all the options before making a decision but nearly 60? How many US troops died during that 60 days that may not have if additional forces had been put into action after the first or second request? I think every person in this country needs a reality check but thanks to one sided views pushed on the general public that will never happen. I don't watch FOXnews or MSNBC or CNN. I can't stand journalists how are so biased yet call themselves impartial.
When you talk about doctors not leaving the profession I hate to tell you there is a growing number of physicians and pharmacists in my area how will only be practicing through the end of the year because the costs for them to operate under the new healthcare plan is unsustainable. I worked for the largest telecommunication company in the US up till end of last year. They are now having to cut benefits or reduce their workforce to make up for the $1 billion shortfall from the healthcare plan. How is that improving America's economy, unemployment or healthcare? Answer: it's not. You said Bush didn't show the true unemployment numbers. Well let's look at the Obama healthcare numbers from 2009-present.
January '09 8.5%
May '09 9.1% (This after we were told no stimulus we would see 10%)
or here we go
July '09 9.7%
Nov '09 9.4% (Thank god for part-time seasonal help)
Jan '10 10.6% (Oh yeah seasonal doesn't last)
If the stimulus did anything I don't see it. Unemployment may have been misrepresented by the White House but Dept of Labor shows pretty consistent accuracy from 1994 on. I think at this point the only thing that was misrepresented was the candidate. McCain was as bad a joke that shouldn't be told once. And despite what you say the fact don't reflect the propaganda this White House is telling. I think a time comes when you can't hide from your demons or blame you predecessor for your mess. Bush screwed the POUND but he didn't spend Trillions in a year on pet domestic projects and only to put our country in the economic dog house. Both wars in Iraq and Afghanistan cost pennies on the dollars the President has wasted in the last 15 months.

Diana Winkel Bays Roger, Great Response to Nathan T. He is just another person that listens to Glenn Beck and Shaun Hannity. I wonder if he has really ever listened to a speech the President has made? President Obama is just trying to clean up the mess George Bush and the Republicans made. It took them 8 years to create the mess but people think President Obama should be able to clean it up in 15 months! They also forget that Bush lied to get us into the war with Iraq and after going to Iraq forgot about Afghanistan.
America needs to apologize for ignoring the standards set by the Geneva Conventions. As American's we should all be ashamed that we resorted to torture.
