You go, boy!
I recently had a similar experience with my M1 carbine. Way too many failures-to-eject/extract, but couldn't afford to send it to a gunsmith. So I bought a set of springs (figured I'd replace them all while I was at it) and replaced them myself. Haven't had a chance to test it yet, but the trigger feels much better, and the magazine locks into place with authority now

. Anyway, if that doesn't help, I have the courage now to replace the ejector and extractor.
It may not sound like much to you experienced guys, but it's a big step for me.
