If you have trouble falling asleep, look into Melatonin.
It is a natural hormone in humans and aids in falling asleep.
The levels of the hormone fall off as you age and at 40, you body produces half as much as at 18.
The unofficial dosage for a sleep aid is 3mg. I find 1mg is great for me.
I take one a half hour before I want to sleep and read for a bit. In about 30 minutes, I really feel like I need to get to sleep.
If I wake in the middle of the night, I'll take another. They do make a time release tablet, if that is a common occurrence.
I wake with absolutely no drugged feeling as I would get with the usual sleep aid like sominex, or whatever is sold these days.
It's worth a try.
Thanks.
I have an abundant supply of OTC
and prescription (Lunesta, Ambien, etc) sleeping pills, but shy away from taking them due to the "hit by a bus" feeling the next day. Plus I don't want to become dependent on them.
