Colorado Teen Ordered To Remove American Flag From His Truck

Remember the post with the woman who saw a rainbow in her sprinklers? She works as a security guard at this school.

Jeremy Stoppel is man enough to admit that he deserved getting a ticket for squealing his tires in the school parking ticket. But he has a problem with the order that came down from school security — no more American Flags. He told KMGH-TV:

    “She said I should take my flags down. She said this is a school that focuses on diversity and she doesn’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable,” Stoppel said. “How do you suppose anyone would feel uncomfortable in America with an American flag? That’s where I’m confused.”

Jeremy and his dad told the station they are looking for an apology:

    “To me, she’s just threatening him, hoping that she can just bully him so he’ll just take ‘em down and just put his tail between his legs and say, ‘I’m done. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.’ And that’s just not gonna happen,” said Dan Stoppel, Jeremy’s father.

The principal is promising to look into the matter. Stay tuned.

UPDATE: The school claims this was a misunderstanding.

“The school doesn’t have any policy about flying American flags, in fact, we have one in every classroom, in the main office, in the auditorium, in the little theatre, we have in hallways upstairs, so we promote the flying of the American flag.” – Mary Lindimore, school Principal

She went on to say the only reason a student would not be able to fly a flag on their car would be if it’s a safety concern, for example, if the flag obstructs a driver’s vision or if it disrupts the educational environment, neither of which is the case here.

The principal says she will talk to the security guard when school resumes on Tuesday, but in the meantime, Jeremy is more than welcome to continue his public display of patriotism.

It does make you roll your eyes. Note to the guard:You're not being paid to make policy, just enforce it. If I were the proincipal I would fire her ass for the simple reason that I had to give a press conference saying in essence that "No, I don't hate America". Honestly, if I were holding a politically sensitive job, and I'd had to do that because of one my boneheaded employees, they would never find the body.

How would this look in the national press,, I was expelled from school for flying the AMERICAN FLAG and it might have made some one uncomfortable??? I can beleive that there are that many manby panbies here in the U.S. maybe in D.C. but not in the rest of this country.

I'm offended by all the anti-offending crap these days. ESPECIALLY when it comes to the American Flag, and the Pledge of Allegiance.  What should we do about that?

We should tell those offended by the US Flag and the Pledge TO DEAL WITH IT OR PICK ANOTHER COUNTRY AND GO THERE!
I bet China will be GLAD to take down all their nations flags JUST FOR YOU! More idiots are born every day....
