Not sure if this is the actual brand MJ was using, but it looks very similar. I know he will weigh in when he gets the time, so in the meantime, I hope this helps.

I am curious if it was the I go brand, I have one of their chargers already and would like to know if it works with the tips I already have.  The solar charger on I go's web site looked similar, but is 89 bucks.  I would be nice if there were a cheaper alternative.

The charger I showed was the Solio Classic. I bought mine for $99 at Batteries Plus. Based on my research, the real advanttage of it is the lithium battery, which allows you to charge the battery and selectively charge your devices--even without a light source.

The tip selection that came with it works well with a variety of older cell phones, walkie-talkies, etc. Cell phones are now moving toward a universal charger tip that is not included with the Solio. However, the USB output cable for the Solio works with the USB charger cable of my new Blackberry and my wife's Droid, so it's still a viable solution.

I hope this helps.

Stay safe,

Mike

Just received my solio solar charger, I got it from a company called igo and it is the solio brand it just comes with a cord to adapt to the igo tips.  I can charge our cell phones, i pod, and my sons nintendo ds.  They sell an adapter to charge 2 AA or AAA batteries as well.  Pretty sweet deal considering I have quite a few igo product already (car charger and wall charger with a few tips).  Don't want to sound to much like a nerd, just thought you might want to know the versatility of the charger.

Solar, crank, or charge your cell off it's AA batteries while you listen.

I've had two of them for years.  Both still working great, and pick up more channels than any other radio I've ever seen.  VERY sensitive reciever!!!

They sell really cheap on amazon all the time.
