The VFW, And The Upcoming Election
« on: October 10, 2010, 04:32:14 PM »
Seems the disconnect between the local chapters, and "National Leadership" has a problem.

http://biggovernment.com/kschlichter/2010/10/10/the-vfw-ignores-its-members-to-suck-up-to-anti-military-washington-incumbents/

One would think local VFW's would have more of a say in it's leadership decisions.

Shame.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Just like the NRA's initial alleged support of Reid.  Some of it is keeping known quantities, some of it is they haven't called their markers in from these guys, some of it is pure self-interest over their job's interest.
"Why are you carrying a pistol?  Expecting trouble?"

"No Maam.  If I was expecting trouble, I'd have a rifle."

The VFW-PAC, has,....wait for it,......

endorsed "ma'am, herself,.....Barbara Boxer"....

Foxnews covered this during their morning show.

Truly a WTF! moment.

and my tolerance of the NRA endorsing Democrats, because of a "grade" scale is becoming tiresome.

TW
Let me put it simply. In politics, "If you ain't got that swing, you ain't got a thing". That's the rule in politics. Doubt me? Ask a Christian conservative GOPer or a Black Democrat. Better yet, ask a Latino. If your vote is taken for granted by both parties, you are written off, except for some doggy treats (sometimes big ones, like judicial appointments, but still you are bought and paid for). You become the base, useful to mobilize, but not a party shaper. If you can go either way? Well, you have power. The difference between W's, McCain's and BO's "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" would be what exactly? The NRA needs to be in a similar position. You are pro-gun, you're in. If not, see 'ya. The rest of it? Not our business. Don't believe me, look at what the Christian Right got under W and Blacks got under BO and compare it to what latinos got under both presidencies. The facts speak for themselves.
