How Do You Stop Getting E-Mails From "Classmates"?
« on: November 16, 2010, 06:43:16 AM »
I made the mistake of signing up on this stupid website once, and my Inbox has been flooded with their crap ever since. Unlike most websites, they don't seem to have a box to check to "unsubscribe" from all of their E-Mails. Or else if they do I can't find it. Has anyone else had this problem? In recent months I've read about a lot of complaints concerning them. I can see why.  Bill T.

Blacklist their domain in your spam filter.

IIRC I had to log in and change a profile setting to stop the emails.  It's been a while though and it's probably been "fixed" since then.

Bill - I did the same as you a couple years ago.  I tried changing the profile, but the old stuff was still in their system.  I learned that by ignoring (set their profile as junk in my filters) that after a year I have quit receiving information.  However, their ads are still on the side bars of newspapers and places that use tracking software to profile us.

Good Luck!

I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

Check and see if there is someplace that says "Contact Us"  Usually in small print at the bottom of the page.  If so, try to sent them a nice e-mail asking them to remove you from their list or else.

Find their server and pick it off at 600yds with one of your "items"...

Or just do what the "nice" guys suggested...

I found this on Windows 7 Home Edition.

1.) Right click on the unwanted E-Mail that is in the Inbox.

2.) Move cursor down to, "Junk E-Mail".

3.) Left click on, "Add senders domain to blocked sender list".

I'll report back on how well this works.  Bill T.

that's it  should work

on a Mac  using Apple Mail  for those that need to

click on the email  go to Message menu  and select bounce  or click on the keyboard  shift,  command , B

that will bounce the email back remove it and mark it as junk block form receiving from that address again  :)
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them
