Minneapolis officials say they are releasing
statistics Monday afternoon that will show
that violent crime is at its lowest level since
the 1980s.
Mayor R.T. Rybak and Police Chief Tim Dolan
will be joined by other city leaders and
community members to give their annual
update on crime rates in the city.
As of Dec. 13, robbery, aggravated assault,
and rape are all down year-to-date between
2.8 and 6.7 percent from 2009.
Also, the years 2008, 2009 and so far in
2010 represent the three lowest homicide
levels in 25 years.
