It's clear the RNC doesn't get it.  They've always (in my lifetime) been the milquetoast party with the slogan of "we're not as bad as the other guys."  Even now, they are unsure what direction to proceed in.  Many in "the establishment" think the GOP is not yet liberal enough. 

Obama is nothing more than a caricature, and should be easily beatable.  Watch the Repubs screw this up, too.  This country is headed downhill, and the only thing the last election accomplished was backing off the accelerator a hairsbreadth.

Sounds like yet another power-grabbing-at-any-cost politician.  <sigh>

What do you expect a political party to nominate? Its an old boys club and the insiders make the rules. The only time, generally speaking, that you get real refom is if the party is desperate and the ladership is thoroughly discredited. In a way, it might have been better for the GOP (though not the country)  if they had lost in 2010. Then you would have seen a purge, not just Steele, but the Congressional leadership as well.  Now, its going to be very easy to keep on with business as usual. They are making the same mistake BO did. Confusing a vote against the other guys with a mandate for themselves. There is no objective reason BO should be reelected, but the GOP seems determined to provide one. Did they learn nothing from the Democrat's years in the wilderness?
