The population of ME is about 1.3 million.  A lot of those along the southeast coast are displaced liberal asshats from RI, CT and MA just like the SE corner of NH.  The city of Portland is like any other city in America these days, replete with poor, urban bottom dwellers.  Snow and Collins are BARELY Rhinos.  I can't remember a vote in the last couple of years that they didn't cave to the wants of the left.  Both voted repeatedly knowing that those two votes would have avoided a 60 vote super majority in the Senate because of Lieberman and the other fence walkers.  For that, they should be thrown out of the party.

The folks up in ME may be quite sick of these two but the influx of liberals might keep them there for the time being.  Since Collins avoids the 2012 fray, she'll probably win re-election in '14.  Hopefully, by then, the RNC will have control of the Senate and make their votes a moot point.

I don't particulary like either senator from Maine, but again, she requested an audit of a fed program that shows signs of abuse. And the downside is......?

Other than a personal dislike of two rinos, which I share, just trying to understand the reason for the post.

Toms reasoning sounds right.  She's either trying to win back favor or knows that nothing will come of it.  Regardless of how much abuse is found, how many times have government programs, of this sort, undergone any fundamental change?

You NEVER go anywhere until you take a first step. Again, the downside is..?

If this move could "win back favor" Maine residents are dumber than I already think they are, for voting for Collins/Snow.
