Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

I can't watch the video here.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. Letter to Alexander Hamilton, Friday, May 02, 1783

I thought we had already established (especially on this board) that the most reliable studies conclusively demonstrate a significant reduction in crime when gun ownership is allowed.  That there is still some sort of foolish debate stems from an unwillingness on the left to recognize confirmed facts.

Personally, I believe the lefties are afraid of what they themselves would do if they had a gun.  They fear their own lack of control and attribute a similar lack of control to others.  And, I think they are probably right to deny themselves gun ownership because they likely do not have enough self control to be trusted with a firearm.  But, I personally have owned various firearms for more than 45 years, and carried concealed for more than 15, and I have yet to shoot anybody.  Oh, I've certainly wanted to, but that's where that "self control" thing comes into play.

These gun grabbing folks tend to be similar to those who because they are vegans want to eliminate meat from everyones' menu.
“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle

You can not conclusively say that "More guns = less crime", there are always anomalous locations like New Orleans with fairly non restrictive gun laws and ridiculous crime rates.
However, the evidence of the opposite is over whelming Fewer guns definitely = more crime, there are no anomalies in the statistics showing that cities and states with stricter gun laws ALL have higher crime rates.
