Forget about buying Greece (also for sale).  Be the proud new owner of the town you already live in.

This opens up sooooooo many ways for citizens to be hosed in the future!   :(

"in Indiana, the state toll road has been in private hands since 2006 (upsetting the truckers who are paying much higher tolls)."

What gets me is that a bunch of phony conservatives buy into this crap. Here's a clue, selling a monopoly is in no way, shape or form, the free market. Its still a government protected monopoly, its just under new management.

Funny. This from a phony libertarian . . . .

It's already here. As noted, Chicago privatized the meters years ago, as did Indiana with the sale of the Tollway - built with public monies and muni bonds. As times get tougher for the tax and spend liberal centers, this idea will seem tame compared to some of the things that get dreamt up.

Think I'm off the mark here? kalifornicated is looking into allowing cities and counties to levy INCOME TAXES. In addition to the state one. Just to brighten your day further.  >:(

Um, the generally very Red state of Indiana has had county income taxes for years. It also taxes your car (in addition to your registration) AND levies a state income tax AND an inventory tax. and this friom a place that is generally pretty solidly GOP. It goes to show that greedy pols can be found in both parties. :-\
