The Automatic Pistol by J B L Noel is a "must have" in this man's opinion. Written in 1919 it is essentially the curriculum developed by Capt Noel to teach combat pistol techniques to the Machine Gun Corps, prime users of the handgun is the British army at that time.

I was shocked to find just about everything we have discussed here at ICCF in this book, albeit the verbiage is different.

Among other items I found Guantes' Trigger squeeze draw, 7677's Sight Continuum, the zipper, and much more. everything Fairbairn, Sykes, Applegate and the others touted is in this book...

Thanks to ken for this find. Most of these old books shows there is no "new" technique for shooting a handgun.

Sounds like a really good companion book to H.W. McBride's "A Rifleman went to war" .
He also was a machine gunner, although Canadian, not British. While the focus of his book is sniping, he does spend some time talking about the use of hand guns in trench raids.

Sounds like an interesting book.

McBride was actually an American who joined the Canadian Army at the outbreak of WW1. A Rifleman Went to War is a fantastic read.

"The Emma Gee's" is an earlier condensed version of "A Rifleman went to war" that deals strictly with the machine guns.

For a gun enthusiast with a strong interest in The Great War, I can't think of another book that even comes close to McBride.
