That's fine and true guys, but you can't deny the fact that the GOP controlled both houses of Congress for 12 years with a Republican President for six of those and did nothing to change it. You're blaming Carter for this? Seriously? What the hell happened between 2000 and 2006? Were you guys not in charge of the legislative and executive branch? Couldn't you have done something, or were the mean old Democrats just too scary? C'mon. As W. said "elections have consequences". One of those being that when you run the railroad in the Congress and the Presidency for six years, sooner or later it becomes your responsibility. ::)

Your 100% right FQ....the establishment Republicans fell asleep at the wheel.,....the Dems,...already asleep at the wheel just let it all culminate into what we have today....

Folks are waking up...and even with unprecedented low mortgage rates,....the banks aren't lending, unless you have a smokin' credit score, and our houses are continuing to lose value....

Nice combo,...I'd say we've been screwed, by both parties, for decades with not so much as flowers or a reach around....

Time for a change.

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Due respect to the Catholics on the board, but the Pope WAS a Nazi (a member of the Hitler Youth. I will note that his predecessor John Paul II never joined the Communist party). I would further note that His Holiness has sheltered and honored Cardinal Law and is actively interfering with exploring sex abuse charges in Ireland, so I think Sarandon is right to call a spade a spade here. Benedict, nee Rattzinger can blow me. The man is an asshole of the first order. I say this as a high church episcopalian who considers himself an Anglo-Catholic, but this guy chaps my shorts. I mean no offense, but I won't apologize either. :-\

As far as similarities? The protest is about why the banks get the bailout and we get the bill. Why do the banks and brokers, who knew they were underwriting risky loans, walk away scott free and we get stuck with a trillion in sovereign debt? W proposed this, and BO ran with it. Both parties are to blame and we SHOULD be pissed. If there is some reason we shouldn't be please let me know.

Professor FQ again proves that he doesn't know crap about history.
Being a member of the Hitler Youth was NOT being a "Member of the Nazi Party" any more than being a Boy Scout means you are a member of the Republican Party, or belonging to ComSomol meant you were a member of the Soviet Communist Party.
They are citizenship focused Youth groups, get that, YOUTH, as in to young to vote, therefore to young to belong to a political party .
Gee, doesn't that make sense ?

Well TW I defer to Stewart on the Daily Show. He did a very funny montage of right wing talking heads like Hannity dissing the Occupy folks and then countered them with praise for the Tea Party for doing or espousing the same things. It was great TV and a good dose of reality. The shot to the jugular? He mentioned that folks like you condemn the ocupy crowd for rude behavior (which I agree is politically stupid and, well, rude). Still he said this, or something close: "The tea Party activists condemn the the Occupy Wallstreet protestors for breaking the law in that they are camping in a public park and littering. Last I checked these were misdemeanors. The Tea Party, the real Tea party from which they take their name? They broke into a private vessel and threw what would be about a million dollars today of cargo over the side. That's two class A felonies. Is anyone else seeing the hypocrisy"?
Just saying

Check your facts. While SOME of these parks are owned by New York City, many are not. They are in fact privately owned properties that had been improved and open for public use. At the expense of the property owner. For example:

http://ironicsurrealism.com/2011/10/13/doc-drop-zuccotti-park-owner%E2%80%99s-letter-of-complaint-to-nypd-police-commissioner-ray-kelly-on-occupy-wall-street-oct-11-2011/

"As you know, for over three weeks, Zuccotti Park (the “Park”) has been used by “Occupy Wall Street” and other protesters as their home base. The Park is owned by a Brookfield affiliate and was recently renovated at Brookfield’s considerable expense as an amenity for the general public. It is intended to be a relaxing tree-filled oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Lower Manhattan. We fully support the rights of free speech and assembly, but the manner in which the protesters are occupying the Parkviolates the law, violates the rules of the Park, deprives the community of its rights of quiet enjoyment to the Park, and creates health and public safety issues that need to be addressed immediately."

More at the link.

This kind of crap has not been seen at the TEA Party rallies.
I am a member of my nation's chosen soldiery.
God grant that I may not be found wanting,
that I will not fail this sacred trust.

Sounds like a bit more than littering, even if you leave out taking a sh!t on a (tax payer owned ) cop car.

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view.bg?articleid=1374776&srvc=rss

Crime and clashes with vagrants continue to plague the Occupy Boston tent city as cops broke up a drug deal and protesters and police evicted two homeless squatters, one of whom was parading around naked, the Herald has learned.

Cops intervened in a ruckus in the tent city overnight as a loud scuffle broke out between protesters and an “aggressive” homeless man, a source said. The man was escorted out of the makeshift encampment.

Another man was tossed out by protesters after he stripped naked and was walking around the tents, the source said.

On Tuesday, cops spotted a “hand-to-hand” drug sale and busted a man with a Suboxone pill, for which he allegedly had no prescription. Cops seized the pill, which is an opiate suppressant, and will summons the man to court for drug possession, police said.

Also this morning, a demonstrator reported that his Apple Macbook laptop was swiped from his tent while he slept, police said.

The Herald reported today that tensions have escalated between the Occupiers and homeless, capped by a knife assault Sunday night.

OBTW, Rape is getting popular at the Occupy (Cleavland) Camp....Seems even mentally handicapped 19 year olds, get "assigned" a tent mate "nothing says I'm doing my part, than tenting up with a male stranger"...

http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2011/10/19/will-media-report-alleged-rape-occupy-cleveland-rally

and in Occupy (baltimore), a "memo" was sent about to the "campers" not to report assaults, or other crimes,....as it might put the "movement" in a "bad Light".....

Damn the victims,....just keep the movement going,....Just like the Tea Party would do...Right FQ?

http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2011-10-19/news/bs-md-ci-occupy-baltimore-rape-20111019_1_sexual-assaults-sexual-abuse-report-crimes

I expect fires within a couple weeks, (hopefully not),...seen news from Greece lately? It's gonna get cold up North soon, nothing like starting some fires to keep warm....

Just like the Tea Party...Right FQ?
