Anyone Watch NRA's Guns and Gold?
« on: January 12, 2012, 02:52:37 PM »
I'm between meetings and cranked up the TV.  NRA's new show Guns and Gold is on.  I've seen the hype and was interested, but not anymore.  Don't get me wrong:  Any show that puts guns in a positive light is a good show in my mind.  However, this is nothing more than PBS's Antiques Roadshow.  Damn I hate that show, so I bet you can figure out what I think of this one.

Thanks for the heads up.  I like old guns but I don't care what they are worth.  I like the history of how they were developed, used, etc.

I thought it was OK.  They show some interesting guns on there.

As a recovering antique guy, I like antique roadshow,.... :-\

Is it on a podcast on the NRA site? or just on cable/sat.

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

I don't know about podcast.  I saw it this afternoon - It was on when I started this.

Haz - The history is good, but the drama thing gets old.  It isn't just the history of a gun.  It is a lecture to the person that brought it in, and then the ... wait for it ... it's worth ... wait for it ... $X to #X  :-\  Wow!  I didn't think!  Wow!

I've seen parts of two episodes, I think. It needs alot mroe production value to make the format interesting. The guy, I forget his name-the Curator for the museum is a little too bland for the role as appraiser/entertainer.
I like Antiques Roadshow better...
(I just wish "WGBH-Commie TV" didn't profit from it..)

I can't afford the Sportsmen's Channel. :)
