I'll play again...upgrade the previously recommended G23 to a G35 (endorsed by the Quiet Professionals from Ft. Bragg), keep the LCP  for a pocket pistol

for a competition shooter.... G34 for practical games, and S&W M41 in .22lr for steel matches/STC

for hunter...something by Hamilton Bowen in .454 Casull, S&W M617 in .22lr

I use a Taurus Millenium Pro and a Keltec p3at, but I must admit, the XDM 3.8 and a Ruger LCP would be my current choice.  The XDM is suuuuuuweeeet.  It has a trigger like butter smothered in Ky jelly!

I would Choose a Model 29 or 629 4" Smith & Wesson and a 5" Model 1911. This will have about anything covered thae I would run into.
There is room for all of God's creatures ....., That would be on my plate right next to the taters and gravy.
