Midwest Industries and my new BCM
« on: March 14, 2012, 07:28:03 AM »
Hello everyone,

First of all my introductions, I'm relatively new here. I've been lurking for a little while while I was researching my latest purchases.

Most of my interests are in recreational shooting, coupled with home and personal defense.

I recently purchased my new

BCM mid-16 mod-0 http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-Mid-16-AR15-Bravo-Company-s/142.htm

from Midwest Industrieshttp://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/

This purchase was made after about 3 weeks of dedicated research (up to 5 hrs a day), paging through reviews, and magazine articles. The Gun isn't why I'm writing this topic. It's everything I expected it would be, a fine rifle, that shoots great, and I'm sure will last me a long time. I had problems getting a local dealer to buy one, and BCM was kind enough to refer me to MI as a stocking dealer. The real reason I'm writing the thread is because I felt the need to tell people out there about the people at Midwest Industries.

My Saturday morning, started out fifteen minutes later than I had planned. The alarm clock started interrupting my sleep at the appointed time of 4:45 am. My subconscious did it's best to help me sleep, by smashing the snooze button deeper and deeper into the plastic case that was buzzing repeatedly through my skull. At 5:15am I managed to drag my but out of bed, along with the wife as well. Our trip began around 5:30 as we headed for the next addition to my "collection". After a 5 hour trip south to Midwest Industries store front location. In honesty, I didn't spend a whole lot of time checking out the store, or the products that MI makes. I knew what I wanted, and was on a mission/budget. Like all other big firearms purchases I make, the excitement can sometimes drown out the rest of the stuff going on around me. As I told the guys at the store, it's a good thing they aren't closer or I would be spending a lot more of my spare change. Impulse buy's at a place like that are one of my weaknesses. The thing is, everyone there was so great to talk to, with a very apparent work ethic, and demeanor that makes a person want to keep coming back. I will be back. I know that I will be buying more products from MI, and I will be back in their store. The sight I bought to go with the BCM is great, and there are several things I'm starting to check out on their website for the future. But the real reason I'll be back is the people. Friendly, like minded people, making quality products here in the USA. If you haven't been by to check these guys out, I highly recommend it. It's worth the drive, I promise, even if it's a 5 hour one.

"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Good lookin' rifle there, Dan.   Sometimes I wished I lived in Flyover country.  There seems to be a lot of really great companies there.

Now you know you're gonna have to do more than just post links.   We need "real" pictures (tradition has it you can include your big toe so we know it's really you)  and target results.

Will work for ammo

Welcome DPW!  Nice Evil Black Rifle you got.
My Dad retired outside of Rhinelander. I have many good memories of 'up north'.

Like all other big firearms purchases I make, the excitement can sometimes drown out the rest of the stuff going on around me.

I'm lucky I don't walk out into traffic like a cellphone zombie!  ;)
