I was raised in the Native American culture and I will let you all in on a little known historical fact about the "Black hills" being sacred to the Lakota.

It's bullshit.

Until the mid 1600's  the Lakota were a Great Lakes tribe.
Then the Huron and other tribes with aid from the French kicked their asses all the way out of the forested region into the plains.

Whereupon they commenced to kick the asses of the Crow and the Paiutes. So basically the Sioux/Lakota stole the Black Hills from the other tribes.

Gotta love revisionist history!   ;D

Yup.  And now they try to claim netting rights here claiming that "we" took away their native lands.

Nowhere on Earth have a conquered people been given so many rights.  You got your ass kicked.  Deal with it and join the 19th century.

Ihprop1,

I have no problem if the Sioux want to net Milacs to death.  Let them do it.  But, the DNR should quit providing them with the fish to net.  If DNR is going to stock the lake and hold you and me to all kinds of limits and size slots, the Indians should be subject to the same.  If the Indians get to net the daylights out of the lake, you and I should get to fish and keep all we want.

They want the Black Hills back they can have them.  We'll send two tractor trailer rigs out there, one with ammonium nitrate and the other with diesel fuel, and wipe the faces off the mountain.  Then they can have it all back the way it was.  Let them live off the land and the one week a year of bikers traveling through.

I'm sorry folks, but it isn't our fault for what happened a century and a half ago, but if they are still destitute from it they need to look at themselves, their parents and their grandparents.  Many of us are from families that were destroyed and broken a few generations back, but we get over it and move on.

Point of clarification:  The DNR doesn't stock walleyes in Mille Lacs.  That's all natural reproduction.  They do, however, stock muskies.

I don't have a problem with the Ojibwe netting Mille Lacs, it's the GLIWFC and all of the Chippewa that I have a problem with.  Your ancestors didn't ride 200 miles on horseback to rape a lake and kill the state record muskie in gill nets and you don't need to either.

Sorry for the rant.  I'm a hardcore muskie fisherman and this is an issue that just lights my fuse.

Don't forget the so called "Palestinians" a bunch of lazy ignorant Arabs who voluntarily left their homes when promised the right to loot Jewish settlements by the Arab states.
Israel offered several times to allow them to return, but they preferred to sit on their asses in camps and whine.

M58 is also wrong about destroying the faces on Mt Rushmore.
They should be left as a permanent reminder "YOU LOST".
