How Far We Have Fallen!
« on: July 04, 2012, 05:53:20 PM »
The History Channel has been running a series calle The Revolution all day.  Many stories are being told of how this nation was forged, and how those that believed in it fought for it.  One story was of the blacks who joined the fighting for this nation.  It was told how they, from the very beginning, believed in what this nation was founded on and that anyone that helped themselves could get ahead.

These words struck me hard with all that has gone on the last week in the news:
We had heavy rains in Duluth with flooding;
We had storms pass through the Twin Cities and wreck havoc;
The east coast was hit by storms;
and the new farm bill has gone through.

As a result of these we are taking personal responsibility everywhere (where is that damn sarcastic emoticon?):
Gov. Dayton is screaming to D.C. for federal aid for Duluth;
Editors through out MN are building a case for why Duluth must get federal dollars;
People of the Twin Cities are without power for a few hours and there are calls for investigation as to corruption in the utilities;
There is a renewed push for government money to help cut trees and repair homes (all private properties);
Not to miss out on the promise of a disaster, Pres. BHO compared the storms in New England to Katrina and promised FEMA would be there with federal dollars ... He was doing this at 7:00 AM eastern time before he even knew the scope;
and of course the farm bill is the cause of all the health issues in our nation.  Forget that we control what and how much we eat, it is all the responsibility of the nanny state to protect us.

What happened to the American Ideal and what our forefathers handed to us?  Are we doomed to lose this Republic that was handed to us, or have we lost it already?

By the way, the stupid meter is running.  Pres. BHO got SCOTUS to allow his health payment plan because it is a tax.  He has been called on it by many, and Mitt Romney pointed out this hypocrisy this morning.  Now the BHO spin machine is claiming it is not a tax.  Watch the stupid meter max out as millions and millions and millions of BHO handout supporters fall in line and defend the imposter in chief  >:(
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

The last several generations brought up in the "entitlement" mentality, where JFK's famous, now infamous quote about Asking NOT what Gov't can do for you, has long been buried....

Now it's "Where's FEMA, and where's my "free sh*t"....

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
