Why am I not surprised? Funny though, I just can't recall Clinton, either Bush, Reagan, or Carter, Ford or Nixon ever doing this....

http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/07/obama-marks-ramadan-129636.html

snip that just irks me.....

"On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I extend our warmest wishes to Muslim Americans and Muslims around the world at the start of Ramadan," Obama said.

Obama also took the opportunity to tie in the struggles of people across the Muslim world engaged in ongoing fighting related to the Arab spring uprisings that began in 2011.

"This year, Ramadan holds special meaning for those citizens in the Middle East and North Africa who are courageously achieving democracy and self-determination and for those who are still struggling to achieve their universal rights.  The United States continues to stand with those who seek the chance to decide their own destiny, to live free from fear and violence, and to practice their faith freely.  Here in the United States, Ramadan reminds us that Islam is part of the fabric of our Nation, and that — from public service to business, from healthcare and science to the arts — Muslim Americans help strengthen our country and enrich our lives," Obama said.

******

"Islam is part of the "fabric" of our Nation"
, Really?.....never quite found an Ahkmed Mohammad Assad Hussien, or any other Muslim name on ANY Founding documents, Federalist Papers, Declarations, or Constitutions,... (Must have missed them)...

Jefferson did have a copy of the Koran, used by our first Muslim Congressman, Keith Ellison (D-MN), "While attending law school, Ellison wrote several articles in support of Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Ellison

Now NASA has a new mission, since we are outsourcing our space program,...

http://usgovinfo.about.com/b/2010/07/07/obama-tells-nasa-to-improve-muslim-relations.htm

NASA's typically background role as a force in international diplomacy suddenly jumped to the foreground when NASA administrator Charles Bolden told Al Jazeera Television that President Obama had directed him to help improve U.S. relations with Muslim nations.

In a July 2 interview, Bolden told Al Jazeera's Imran Garda that when he took over at NASA, Obama had directed him to "find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science and math and engineering."

Really? Let's review,....

Newton, Einstein, Pascal, Aristotle, Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, John Locke, Confucius, Plato, Steven Hawking, Sun-Tzu, Galileo Galilei, Darwin, Edison,  Alessandro Giuseppe Antonio Anastasio Volta (invented the battery & "modern" electrical theory).
Pasteur, Guglielmo Marchese Marconi, Nikoli Tesla, Marie Curie, Alan Turing (father of formal algorithms, led to computer programs and binary code)...Neils Bohr (atomic structure, quantum mechanics), Da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Rembrandt (actually envisioned and sketched a helicopter type aircraft). Wright Bros. Heinkel (first jet aircraft)...Steve Jobs..

I could go on and on,.....must have missed all the Muslim contributors.....cause I couldn't find any of note that can even compare to the names above.....

Sorry for the rant.....

We are so screwed if BHO gets re-elected.

That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

snopes has it as false, but read the cover he used under the guise of the 7th Circuit during May 09...

However, "His own words"

"Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation"

#1 "Islam has always been part of America"

#2 "we will encourage more Americans to study in Muslim communities"

#3 "These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings."

#4 "America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings."

#5 "So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed"

#6 "Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality"

#7 "As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith."

#8 "I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month."

#9 "That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn't. And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear."

#10 "I also know that Islam has always been a part of America's story."
