Vincent Hancock added another gold to the United States’ medal tally on Tuesday, winning the men’s skeet and continuing his Olympic dominance in the event.

Hancock, 23, bested Anders Golding of Denmark and Nasser al-Attiya of Qatar at the Royal Artillery Barracks under gray and damp conditions. Hancock finished with 148 successful shots out of 150, Golding with 146 and Attiya with 144.

-------------------------------------

Hancock is the first American man to defend a gold medal in skeet shooting. He missed only two targets in qualifying for a 123 score, an Olympic record. In the final, he hit all 25 shots. He is the second American man to win a gold medal in skeet, preceded by Matthew Dryke in 1984.

Hancock, of Eatonton, Ga., is a sergeant in the United States Army and is a member of the Army’s Marksmanship Unit. The training he received as a serviceman “made me into the man I am today,” Hancock said.

------------------------------------

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

"When it comes to the enemy, just because they ain't pullin' a trigger, doesn't mean they ain't totin' ammo for those that are."~PegLeg

Especially the part about not capping the armed Muslim.

Congratulations to Vincent.   He came across pretty good on the interview I saw, too.

Just a point of history, Eatonton, GA was the home of Joel Chandler Harris of the Br Rabbit stories.

Also right outside town is the state 4H camp called Rock Eagle.  Called so because of a large mound of rocks built by the native indians years ago in the shape of an eagle.  No know reason why they did that.  Archeologists have dissected the mound and found nothing but some ancient trash.

[Ancient indian dialog]
Hey Mo, wha'cha doin with all the rocks.
I'm just bored so I thought I'd make a huge mound to look like the big bird.   500 years from now it'll drive archeologist nuts trying to figure out what it means.   HEY, don't throw your KFC bones in there.  [/AID]

You might not be far off the mark.
All those iconic New England stone walls are nothing more than where farmers dumped the rocks from their fields.
They worked their asses off clearing the land so they weren't going to dump them in the middle of it.
It's also worth noting that they landscape landfills after they're filled in.
No reasons Indians wouldn't do the same.

 ;D LMAO!!!!

Congrats to Vincent and Shooting Team USA....

Have to go online to watch the event, but I think it's fitting the U.S. dominates the Shooting Events.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
