My one , sort of, gripe about Amazon.
I buy mostly books.
I have had fantastic luck with the used books, most titles I look for I can get for a penny and they are like new.
My gripe ?
$3.99 shipping  .
With paperbacks running $7.99 + I can't get to upset though, and I got a Cold Steel Ti lite for half price.  ;D

Gotta get over that 25 dollar hump to get free shipping.  I save stuff in my wish list till I get over the hump...

Problem is they they come from different dealers, my average order is over $30 but split between several different dealers.
It works out on the other end though since I have packages to look forward to spread over a whole week.

You should get one of those Kindle things.  My kid has one and she's never without the damn thing.

Been thinking about it.
Most of the books I get the Kindle edition is $.99.
Maybe this Christmas.

You can use the Kindle Fire as a wifi device at the local internet cafe as well.  My daughter hops right on my network when she visits and she's online in seconds.

Wife has the Fire and loves it.  I use a tablet instead (Toshiba Thrive) with a Kindle App.  I got mine through Woot so it was only $50 more than the Fire but has much greater capability.  The Fire is a Android tablet minus all the external connections and features (HDMI, SD slot ect) and some of the apps (email, web browser) won't run on a Fire.

Just bought the wife a Kindle Fire last month for our anniversary for the standard $200. Went in Staples today and they have them on sale for $150.  >:(
Oh well, I've lost more for less in the past.
I did have to add a $40 wireless router to mu computer system, but I was going to do that anyway.

She (we   ;) ) really like it..... lots of stuff at Amazon for free or .99 cents.
First free things I downloaded for her was the Bible, the US Constitution. and the Declaration of Independence..... and then the Federalist papers.  ;D

Does it have to be wireless, or can you connect to the computer with a cable like uploading photo's from a camera ?

The Fire is wireless, but you can buy a cable (extra cost... for $200, looks like they could throw in a cable) to hook to a computer.

They have different versions. One Kindle runs on the 3G phone network, so it would work anywhere there is 3G phone access. My dad bought a regular original style Kindle from wal-mart a while back. The list price was $80, and wal-mart gave an instant $30 rebate/gift card at the register.
