I think I've this scenario on the show.

Sounds like self defense but, all the details aren't out yet.

City police are piecing together details of an altercation in the parking lot of Shop ’n Save on Beau Street in Washington Thursday afternoon that resulted in the shooting death of a 55-year-old Washington man. The victim, Vaughn A. Simonelli, was pronounced dead at the scene by Washington County Coroner Tim Warco shortly before 4:30 p.m.
Warco said Simonelli died of a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.

The shooter, whose name was not released by police, is in custody. Police have not decided if they will file charges.

Washington police Lt. Dan Stanek said the gunman called 911 just before 4 p.m. to report the shooting and waited at the scene.

“There was some sort of altercation, according to witnesses,” said Stanek. “We’re early in the investigation.”

Police are trying to determine what prompted the altercation after bystanders said the victim threw a punch at the gunman.

The victim’s Pontiac was parked behind the shooter’s Hummer, which bears a Glock sticker on the rear window.

Court records show Simonelli had a criminal history.

In 1990, he was charged with aggravated assault and other related offenses and was sentenced to 24 months’ probation. More recently, Simonelli was arrested in 2010 for violating a protection-from-abuse order.

The anti-gun people at work are ready to hang the guy.  "the other guy had a family", "He's got a Glock sticker on his truck"

What does the sticker in his car window have to do with the fact he shot a guy with a history of violence ?

Not enough info to make any judgement.

We know witnesses said the dead guy threw a punch at the shooter...but we don't know if the shooter did anything to threaten the dead guy before that.

It does not say the dead guy was armed...so there might not be cause for lethal force.   For instance, if the dead guy was 5'1" and weighed 101lbs and the shooter was 6'4" and was a 210 lb martial arts competitor, lethal force might not have been warranted.

The dead guys priors don't have much to do with evaluating his guilt on the day of the encounter.  Because he arrested for violent behavior on two occasions in past does not make him guilt of aggressive behavior on this day.....just like if he had a perfectly clean record in the past does not make him not guilty on that day.

More info has come out.  He's being charged with homicide.

His defense attorney is saying he never got out of the car and the other guy walked over, punched him and threatened to kill him.  The deceased's car was parked behind his and had him blocked in.  The defense are saying tests will prove that he fired from inside the vehicle.
