In October, 1991 I watched in my rear-view mirror as a drunk driver, that I had managed to dodge, hit my wife's vehicle head-on. He died, but she survived, but battled depression and survivor's guilt for years afterward.
15 years, to the day, later, a drunk driver hit a car driven by my brother-in-law head-on. My sister/best friend/biggest cheerleader I ever had was killed instantly. My brother-in-law died in the helicopter on the way to the hospital. Between them they left behind 7 children, 15 grandchildren (3 of whom have been born since they died), and 1 great-grandson.
No family should have to endure what my family has. Please, I beg of you, don't drink and drive.
