Guns Vs. Doctors???
« on: May 05, 2008, 09:48:05 AM »
I have had problems with doctors my whole life.  Once was misdiagnosed with a “sinus infection” when I had meningitis.  The next time was when I went in for a “simple vasectomy” and my nuts swelled up to the size of a pair of ripe honey-dew melons (but that’s just the half of it … the doctor that I went to fix this looked and talked just like Christopher Lloyd’s character the “Reverend Jim” from the old sitcom “Taxi” … yeah, bad HMO).

Here’s an oldie but goodie that someone sent me comparing some fun stats …

Amazing Stats
A. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000
B. Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year is 120,000
C. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171(statistics by US Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Then think about this:
A. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000
B. The number of accidental gun deaths per year is 1,500
C. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.0000188

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.  Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.

We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand.

And when they screw up you still get a bill, eh?

The bad thing is the AMA has come out against guns.  Some of you doctors out there who read this board...I know you do...you need to push back on your colleagues a bit.  A "secret" very, very few people know....doctors and lawyers are the single largest groups that hold Class III weapons.  Seems as though they recognized the supply/demand thing when Reagan froze the number of MG's in private hands....cash business too.

To the doctors out there...thank you for being diligent...I have seen that you gun doctors are far more capable, responsible and caring than your colleagues.  Your bills seem smaller and easier to digest too.
Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom.
It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.
