Irony and the 2nd Amendment
« on: January 15, 2013, 10:50:00 AM »
I've thought this several times, but a post today by a friend on FB summed it up in a neat package in a statement by one of his friends about how ironic the current political actions are concerning the 2nd Amendment.
We've been rightly calling it hypocritical, because many of them have armed guards and some own guns and have permits, but this statement is toward the irony of overall trend.
The three links that follow were posted in the comments from a blogger and were interesting also.

Does anyone else see the irony in the Gov/White House tells gun owners they are paranoid thinking the 2nd Amendment is about protection from Tyranny.
Yet immediately after saying this the same government then plans an end run around congress to implement laws outside the constitutional structure for legislation specifically to curtail citizens rights - meanwhile ignoring the actual established responsibilities of office.

Or is that just me? - from H.G.

What does 'well regulated' mean?

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
