RCBS and Dillon
« on: April 11, 2008, 10:50:30 PM »
Well I called RCBS Thursday and told them my weeping plight  and they told me to send it in and they will ether repair it or send a new die out to me at no charge. Also called Dillon Precision and asked them about sending me some parts that got missed placed in the move and gave them a run down of the three  things missing and a small list off wants and needs. When all was said and done I asked the total for the list of reloading gear and the parts . He told me that there was no charge for the missing parts , I told him that it was my fault they were missing and all he could say was " Hey I have moved to and always come up with something missing so take the free stuff". My wife is glad that I'm not going OOOHSAW,OOOOHSAW any more. thanks to good customer relations of the two fine companies.

Knew that about Dillon, did not know that about RCBS - good for both of them and for you. I haven't unloaded after my recent move, so God only knows what I lots along the way.  >:(

I have a Dillon and MEC, a friend has an RCBS, and we own a lot of RCBS dies.  The only parts either of us have ever paid for was the wad fingers for the MEC, the chain and spring for the old style primer tray on the MEC (I switched to the new style tray and can't wear anything out), and a screw on cap for an RCBS bullet puller (some idiot slammed the wrong end down on the bench - anyone know how far those plastic pieces can fly).  The only reason we paid for that part is that we bought it locally.  When we were ordering some other stuff they we joked about what we had done, and they sent us two more free to "idiot proof our shop."  Dillon has even sent us packs of extra stuff we didn't ask for, because it "usually wears out at the wrong time."

I still say that my experience with anything in the shooting industry is excellent!  If we could get other's heads out of their PC holes they could all learn from the industry we love.

I hope to get into reloading after another gun purchase or two. Perhaps I will go with one of these two companies starting out.

I have been dealing with Dillon for over 17 years now and have wore out complete reloading systems ( Dies presses and powder measures ) They have sent me complete  systems when I have wore them out I swear I have loaded over a million rounds. How did I get a Dillon? Another IPSC shooter bought one and gave me his Lee progressive. Notice I did not say he was a friend. As friend just don't put friends thru that kind of aggravation.

Well I got my die back today at no charge and am back to reloading .223. In the mean time I have done 1,000 rounds of .45 acp  and 1,000 rounds of .44 mag and 500 rounds of .357 mag . that should last a day or two.
