One was just a traffic stop, He had put it under the seat and the butt was sticking out. I'm not sure about the other. I think both got pleaded down to mistameaners. But I'm sure the lawyer fees and fines were pretty stiff. Most LEO's in my area are pro 2nd, it's the state police on the interstate that got these two.
A bird in the hand is worth..Well, about a box of shells!

In NC, if you get tagged like that ANYWHERE you lose your CCW permit for life. Pretty high stakes, so lots of people just carry, no permit, no nothing. It's an easier hit if you get caught. Used to be $32.50, fine and cost of court and you got your gun back. Don't know about now though. Mac.

Kind of pathetic when it's cheaper to get caught ignoring the law than to try to obey.

The process is the punishment.

Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom.
It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.

Yes, but it's still half the cost of a speeding ticket as opposed to all the hoops you other states have to jump through to LEGALLY excesses your second amendment RIGHT.

Don't forget to tip your hat to the lady and watch out for Ol Green Teeth. 8)

Just like Maryland, and New Jersey, go around Ill. Don't speed too much.

Have a good trip.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
