Well to be fair, there was only on fatality and that was from a veteran's wife who miscarried.

But you do have a very good point.  It's shocking how badly those veterans were treated by the government.  If it happened then it could easily happen again.

The officer who actually commanded the troops who attacked the bonus marchers was a Capt. named George Patton.
Yes, the great, widely adored "Patton" was the sort of POS who would fire on Americans just as quick as Germans or Mexicans.
