This crap wouldn't happen if there was a news media that wasn't the equivilent of Pravda and Izvestiya.
We get fed $#!+ sandwiches and the only thing the news investigates is whether they're gluten free.
We cannot expect someone else to do what "We the people..." should be doing. This journalistic elevation to near-deity that's gone on for 50 years is disgusting. It would not matter what the press reported or thought if "We the people..." participated actively in the political process.
Just voting is not enough today. It may have been some time ago....but the political process has been hijacked by buffoons in both parties which inspires apathy. It's hard to not be apathetic when you have sellouts like Boehner, McConnell, Cantor, Graham and other outright traitors like Pelosi, Reid, et. al. The federal government has enumerated powers but the players (President, Congress, Supreme Court) seem to believe they allocate all power and are restricted by nothing.
Apathy must be shaken off and we must return to a constitutional rule of law while there is still enough political process that we can engage politically these seemingly insurmountable problems created by the politician's self-greed and need to control us. We are ruled by evil men and women who need to be replaced and that won't happen unless we do more than talk about what someone else is not doing right. We all need to become politically active in selecting (yes..you can put together a handful of people and select your own candidate and support him or her) candidates, supporting candidates with time and money and then by voting for candidates.
That's a triad guys.....selection, support and then vote. You can do it. And when you do it, successfully, you'll be surprised after a couple of successes what the "old guard" be it Dem or Repub will offer you in appointments, money and support to derail you. The RINO's here in OK berated our candidates, supported alternate candidates and tried to freeze out of the process our candidates...but when we won 2 or 3 seats in the legislature they got scared.
It honestly does not take a lot more than some of your time and a little of your money if you run a truthful and honest person who will learn the facts, speak a bit and explain the Constitution and laws in a manner people can understand. You do not have to sway everyone....you just need to be sincere with a few and watch the grass roots grow.
You won't be successful every time...but if you become successful you'll see that grow over time. And this battle for America...it won't be won from the top down. We are successful only from the bottom up.
