Get active locally. Nathan isn't my state senator here in Oklahoma, but I met him at a rally I organized during the last gubernatorial election. I must say I was taken aback that grass roots got him elected and I'm happy to say I've spoken with him, supported him and have shaken his hand.
When Piers Morgan found out about Nathan's bill (named the
Piers Morgan Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms Without Infringement Act) Piers tweeted "unbelievable" followed by an invitation to be come on his show to debate the act: "Hi Senator @NathanDahm - come on my show and debate your new 'Piers Morgan Act'. If you have the guts." Piers got more than he bargained for.
Piers repeatedly cut him off, which is to be expected, but got his hat handed to him as Nathan explained to Piers that he did not understand what RIGHTS are. Piers tried to ridicule him and found out Nathan really could recite the 2nd Amendment. Piers found out that Oklahoma has by statute and decree defined the militia so that argument went nowhere and frustrated poor, poor Piers.
Take a listen to his CNN interview with Piers Morgan...Nathan employed a "liberal trick" fighting fire with fire, told everyone he pulled a liberal stunt and then put forth his Senate Bill with Piers name on it to enhance our gun rights in Oklahoma...Piers was mad about that and said it was a cheap trick boo, hoo, hoo. In your face Piers and Piers supporters. Nathan is a straight shooter and an example of what we need to do for grass roots to really make a difference in our nation. We have to be patient while at the same time being diligent and energetic working to fix this mess we call politics.
