Bought one from Midway with all the attachments and tried it first on my Sig 556 rifle at 75 yards. (Have a huge shop at work indoors to sight it in.).
Tough to see the laser in bright light at long distance, the big thing is seating the sighter in the bore. You have to test it by rotating it in the muzzle to see if it rotates around the target. (A partner rotating it while you scope it helps), if it "wobbles" you can be off, especially over 75 yds.
It will seat with a little oil on the stem. Tight but not overtight will get you close. The manual states that final adj. must be made on the range. It depends on the distance you want it to be zeroed on. The BDC on the scope helps at ranges over 150, but its not a bad boresighter.
I have my NcStar on the Sig zeroed at 75 and am right on. It did take me several rounds and short bits of profanity to get it there but once it did it worked. For my Sig, I don't want a 400yd shooter, its an assault rifle, so 100 or less with reliability is fine for me.
What are you going to sight?
Good Luck, a little patience helps, but it does work.
