HR 442 or S.T.O.P. (Stop The Overreaching Presidency)
« on: February 18, 2014, 09:27:41 PM »
Congressman Tom Rice of SC is my old college roomate's brother-in-law.  He has introduced HR 442 or S.T.O.P. (Stop The Overreaching Presidency).  You can see a link to read a bit about it below:
http://politichicks.tv/column/can-stop-overreaching-presidency-h-r-442/

It now has 103 sponsors and we need to flood our US Reps with mail and email to help get them on board with supporting this and bringing it to the floor.

Here is a link to see Tom Rice speaking about HR 442....as well as other South Carolina Tea Party Patriots:  http://new.livestream.com/teapartypatriotslive/SC

You may be surprised to see who some of them are speaking at the SC Tea Party Patriot gathering.  Check out Lt. Col. Bill Cowan who points out some corporate enemies are like Cracker Barrel, AARP, the local newspaper, etc. that make money from our patronage so quit paying them..

Please help with just a little effort by calling and writing your US Representative.

It's on Fox now:  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/02/19/house-republicans-sign-on-to-measure-to-stop-presidential-overreach/

As President Obama's critics grow increasingly concerned about his use of executive power, they're also examining their options.

In the House, more than 100 Republican members have signed on to the Stop This Overreaching President (STOP) Resolution. In it, Rep. Tom Rice, R-SC, lays out the ways in which he believes the president has violated his Article 2, Section 3 constitutional duty to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed."

Rice points to the president's unilateral modifications to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), welfare-to-work requirements and immigration laws.

If a majority of House members support the STOP resolution, it would authorize a civil lawsuit against Obama.  In the past, members have had a tough time launching lawsuits against a sitting president. <snip>

Unfortunately, writing my US Reps or Senator is a futile waste of ink and intellect!  Since there are no real Americans in either house from the Commonwealth, they don't care one bit about what their constituency thinks!  They all believe that the wanker at 1600 Penn is doing a wonderful thing...

Timothy I was shocked to see Pat Caddell and Doug Schoen come out against establishment Republicans and Democrats...now these guys were pollster/operatives for Jimmy Carter and I think Clinton.   Caddell even came out about a back room deal on the Volkswagen union vote that was greasing the skids for the vote and said the union leaders are just as bad as Congressional and Senate leadership....the union lost even though contrary opinions were not allowed.

Caddell and Schoen agreed that the Dems and Repubs were putting their own personal interests above national safety, etc.  The clip below is easy to listen to...time flies give it a minute to heat up.

Maybe both sides are ready to throw the bums out.  But not without an opposition candidate.  Right now in my little area we/I are/am talking to people who can run in primaries...that's where the battles have to be won so the time to register is now and the battle starts at the bottom up.

Yesterday our local county Repub head called me, as a result of my and other's comments at a meeting Saturday, to say that our State Senator Eddie Fields was sorry for voting for SB 906.  SB 906 will give Oklahoma's electoral votes to the popular vote, whatever it may be, as combined with other states so that a pac can be formed to bring in presidential candidates and the news media can benefit from advertising dollars and the talking heads can have something to talk about.  The excuse was that Eddie didn't really read it and was exhorted by persuasive Repub friends in the Oklahoma State Senate....my reply is that shows a lack of competency that real world people lose their jobs over.

So...Eddie will have a competent challenger in the Republican primary and the establishment likes Eddie.  The establishment wants everyone to play nice and several of us have found willing donors and already have $10k aside in a weekend to donate to a good candidate for an approximate $70k campaign race that will hopefully unseat this incompetent or Marxist that calls himself a Republican.  The phone call was wasted time.

Now...I say that because you can affect/participate locally and have influence.  The people who run the party at the lower level are primarily just "bubbas" and people who watch "Dancing With The Stars" who like the limelight.  They want everyone to get along so long as the "big guy" or "big girl" will pat them on the head.  I bet someone with your background could be running your local/county party group in a year...and then you make a real difference because the big guys need you to get re-elected...really.

So...I'm just saying you can help make a difference by being active.  We win this from the bottom up not by replacing rot at the top.
