No one has gotten to shoot them much
because they want to comply with the recall,

I'm sure once the "gremlins" have been taken care of, its still a Ruger, I would expect premium rounds to perform, and hopefully the members that are "patiently" waiting to either get theirs back, or are still waiting for a RMA label, will let this forum know.

I registered for the recall as soon as it popped up on DRTV and still haven't received a box yet.

Ditto.
Since the update on their site (dated 6/19) said "The first wave of shipping boxes has been sent to customers and we are receiving pistols for retrofit daily." I have been watching my mail in anticipation. Looks like I could be in for a long wait. Again.
If anyone even hears of someone getting their shipping box it would be nice it they would post it here.

I will get to ammo in a minute but first a rant.
This neat little recall of the SR9 has all owners saying what the hell but what really gripes me is the fact that I know a few dealers that have already sent in 20 plus SR9's and have gotten them back. Sorry but screw dealers Ruger needs to prioritize shipment to people who currently own the guns not those selling them.
Now for ammo selection.
I have used just about everything in my SR9.
- Remmington FMJ
- Win FMJ
- Win SXZ flat and HP
- Powr Ball
- Blazer Aluminum & Brass 115gr FMJ
- Federal Hydra Shoc HP
- Federal Classic
- DPX
It never failed to cycler or fire any of them.

The guys at Ruger told me today the boxes are starting steadily going out...used Hornady 124-gr JHPs at the GUNSITE 250...shot some DPX and TAPS through mine as well...
