A possible answer to poor political choices this fall?
« on: July 13, 2008, 10:11:50 PM »
There have been several discussions here about voting this fall.  Most have voiced an opinion on Pres., but as we know none of the choices we have are what we really want.  It is a popularly held belief that the Republicans will loose seats in both the House and Senate.  McCain will not have "coat tails".  Obama might.  I would like to propose an idea.  Look around your state or region.  (I know it may take a bit of time.)  Look to see what conservative types are running and send them a donation if any that may have been sent to the National party or Presidential campaign.  I was lucky.  Here in Florida there is a canidate worth his exposure on a few conservative type blogs.  In case his exposure has escaped your attention.  I would be honored to present Lt. Col. Allen B. West.  He is now running for the 22nd congressional district seat.  I have sent him a dontation and I would urge you to look close to you and do the same.  For lack of a better term we would be seeding a "farm team".  The sooner there are more people that more closely mirror our values.  Here are a couple of websites with more info:

Just a quick quote:  "If it's about the lives of my men and their safety, I'd go through hell with a gasoline can,"

We need more people like this representing us in Congress.  Spread the word.
The person who has nothing for which his is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

West would be a great choice!  He got railed for doing a great job in the sand pit too.

You are abso-loving-lutly right to contribute and campaign for people like him.  Lot of folks don't like the current slate of candidates but will only bitch and moan about the choices they have in front of them.  Screw that.  People need to get off their beer drinking asses and put people in office that will make a difference.

Great idea to find those better choices (like West) and help them get elected.
