New .22 revolver
« on: May 18, 2016, 01:32:54 PM »
If I had a ton of money, this wouldn't be a problem.
I like the 63 and the S&W kit revolvers but I'm on a budget this time because I want a laser sight also.
Taurus, ultra lite 9 has been discontinued, the others look a little heavy.
I've got the SP 101, and that you could beat a bear to death,  it weighing 36 ounces.

How does the Charter Arms stack up, the Pathfinder 2 inch?  I've heard gun and bad.
Can anybody give me reviews on the Pathfinder, and maybe what else to shoot for a revolver?
.38 is way pricey, I can shoot at least 400 rounds for a box of .38.

I just stay away from Taurus altogether.  Some of their products are neat and fill gaps in the product lines of others, but generally I've had quality issue in both design and manufacture.

HOWEVER:

First, are you thinking possibly about a SA one?  A number of manufacturers, besides Ruger and Uberti.

Second, how about used?   Dan Wesson, H&R, Colt and many others that might just fill your bill.

I'm using one hand, a S/A, would takes years to unload and load with my left hand.
So, I'm stuck trying to find a D/A that I can afford.  I'd like to get a new one because of the laser sight that I will get at the same time.
That way I can break everything in together.
Actually I shoot S/A style, cocking the hammer because the heavy drag of the .22 trigger pulls me off of the black.
The Taurus Ultra Nine isn't too bad but it is over 15 years old.  The 4" other Taurus is the same age.
The Ruger SP 101, I could bludgeon something to death, at 36oz, way to heavy!
So, that is the gist of things.  A  3" barrel, .22 revolver D/A and S/A
