Here in Western North Carolina we woke up to 28 degrees. Not too bad, but my antique fuel oil boiler gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago and we are depending on a couple of mini-splits to keep us warm. They aren't doing a bad job and get the bedroom up to 72 in no time at all. We run a fire in the fireplace during the evening so we stay comfortable.
It 28 degrees here in Michigan 2 1/2 hours after sunset, which was
before 5 pm, BTW. This is the only time of the year we need Daylight Saving Time, and the only time of the year we don't have it. The "feels like" temp is 28 too, and single digit temps are rare, but that was better than the sub-0 I heard was predicted when several states took the plunge.
