Maglula AR15 / M4 30rd Range BenchLoader
« on: March 21, 2025, 01:43:55 AM »
I finally got around to using my Maglula AR15 / M4 30rd Range BenchLoader loader for 5.56 / .223 mags. It loads magazines in a single stroke and you can load hundreds of magazines per day. It totally eliminates finger pain and injury, shortens loading time, and keeps the magazine’s lips from being damaged. Fits and loads AR15 / M4 USGI (NATO STANAG 4179), Magpul PMAGs, H&K metal 416 / SA80, SureFire 60 & 100 rd, Beretta AR 70-90, Lancer, Hexmags, other metal and polymer AR15 / M4 compatible 5.56 x 45 / .223 magazines using no inserts or adjustments. The loader runs about $130 at several places, but it makes loading so easy I think it's worth it.

This thing really works. Instead of loading 30-rounds in all of my 30-round mags, I only loaded 28 so it's easy to insert a mag with the bolt closed. If I ever want to switch mags while there's a round in the chamber I can. I put a mag in the loader and loaded the tray until there were 29 rounds in it. It was easy to do without counting. The edge of the slider slides right up to the number 29. Then I took one round out and slammed the remaining 28 home. I unloaded my 2 plastic mags that had 30 rounds in each one, and reloaded them with 28. And I loaded 20 aluminum mags with 28 rounds each. I think my 20-round mags hold 16 in one and 17 in the other, but I loaded each with 15 rounds. I emptied my 60 round mag which was completely full, and refilled it with 58 rounds. The quad-stack mag is so thick I had to leave it hanging over the edge of my desk instead of lying flat. The first 30 rounds went in really easy but the last 28 took a few pushes on the slider to get them all in.

While I was at it, I unloaded my Beta C-Mag that had 99 or 100 round in it, I'm not sure which. I loaded it 5 rounds at a time with the loader that came with it. I lost count halfway through and when I thought it had 95 rounds in it I tried to load 5 more. Only 1 round went in which must have been 101 rounds. I took the last one and 2 more out so it has 98 rounds. Now I can insert it into my rifles with the bolt closed. That's not possible with it fully loaded, and for a long time I thought it had to be inserted with the bolt locked back. I doubt I'll ever do an administrative reload using the C-Mag, but now I know it's possible. You need to slam it in harder than a normal mag and it's kind of noisy. Not something you can do without being noticed. I think the only AR mags I don't have loaded now are my 3 5-round mags, 10-round with -5 limiters. I think that makes 648 rounds loaded and ready to go. It's all IMI M193 ammo from 30-round boxes that don't have any paper or plastic in them, just a row 10 rounds pointed up, a row of 10 pointed down, and another row of 10 pointed up, stacked on top of each other. The boxes are so compact they look like 20-round boxes. When you pull the top open you have 10 rounds lined up the same way, ready to put into the loader.
