And you can add a vindictive excise tax like Pittman-Robertson but instead of funding positive shooting projects. It will be used for bullet serialization, a nation wide ballistic finger print system and the new Freedom Confiscation Corps!

I didn't forget about those things.   They will be part of the hubris surrounding the gun control issue.  However, the ultimate goal is outright ban and confiscation of all privately held firearms.  Making it more expensive to own and shoot them certainly would be a move toward that goal, but the real path they will go down is "divide and conquer."  Hence, the outright banning of at least some guns and ammunition, and the creation of a central registry are going to be the priority legislation AND the most damaging.  I think they'll go right for the jugular.  Excise tax, tagging, & bullet fingerprinting are all red herrings.  They will propose them but throw them out to show how they're willing to "compromise" while stabbing us in the back with the other legislation.

Folks, this congress will be going for our jugular!

The biggest question when it comes to "fixing" the economy in any amount of time is what is the fix going to look like?  September 11, 2001 was the trigger that brought on the correction to the "e stocks" that had been forecast and warned about.  Many thought the world was coming to an end, but things have survived since.

Now we have had the wake up call from the sub prime lending.  There is a lot of goofy stuff going on that does not need to go on, and I believe we are also seeing the the effects of too many inexperienced and uneducated investors messing with their 401K's.

I fear that Mr. McCain's claim that the markets are still fundamentally sound may be closer to the truth than the plans rushed through earlier and what BHO and his team might have in mind.  If all we get is a quick feel good thing that masks things for a little, the Sesame Street Generation will get their instant gratification and lose track of the long term.

Remember that the sub prime mess started with a liberal plan many years ago and just erupted after several years of rumbling.  What do you think a liberal, socialist leadership is going to do with it?

Picked the wife up from work today and she said,  "However many bullets you ordered from that reloading company Monday, double the order.  AND [emphasis mine] go into debt if need be, but buy whatever guns you want to have, now.  And buy more ammo."

LOVE THAT WOMAN.

Does she have a wealthy sister?
