The election results last week puts the fight for our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights into a completely new phase. The time to make our case is over. We have pointed to the well-documented intentions of the founding fathers in crafting the Bill of Rights and last summer, prevailed in the US Supreme Court with the Heller decision. There was a battle, and we won, barely, but the fight is not over.
Okay, we proved our point. The USSC agreed with us, well 4 out of 5 justices did anyway. The trouble is, it is very unlikely that decision will stand the next time a 2nd Amendment case makes its way up the chain to an Obama appointed court.
Our immediate concern, however, is something much more hideous. President Elect Barack Hussein Obama had a list of priorities on his transition web page, and right at the top of that list was to re-institute the “Assault Weapon Ban.” When that list saw the light of day among the gun rights community, it was removed from the web site.

Barack Hussein Obama knows very well the power he has, or will have, by use of Executive Orders. By the stroke of a pen, the president can issue orders to the various government alphabet agencies, and those orders have the force of law. That was how President William Jefferson Blythe Clinton, banned the import of certain “assault weapons,” in addition to the congressionally authorized “Assault Weapon Ban,” which had a sunset clause.
Make no mistake, there are firearm related infringements coming our way, in direct violation of the US Constitution’s Second Amendment. Those infringements will not initially come from Congress, but from the executive branch. There is only one way that I know of to fight these infringements, and that is by banding together with other freedom loving Americans. I can promise, any new congressional gun ban will not have a sunset clause. They have learned from their “mistake.”
It is time to put our petty differences aside and join together. If you have not already done so, please join the NRA. Lobbying and legal fights, takes money. Vast amounts of money. This could very well be our last stand, so maybe it is time we put our money where our mouths are. Time to put up, or shut up. I intend to begin the process of upgrading my NRA membership, and once again send them money to help.
