I agree with you, but my job takes me to the Cities for meetings and continuing education (no smart ass comments from the peanut gallery  ).  Since we are stuck in the hotels in downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul everyone wants to go out.  I get to be the designated driver since I don't drink up there.
