When party leadership does this to Jim DeMint, a true conservative in every sense of the word, we now know that the Grand old Party has gone past the point of no return....

Quote
Republicans chew on DeMint

South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, who proposed the rules, saw quickly that they weren’t going to be popular with his colleagues. So one of his staffers urged him to withdraw the proposal setting term limits on the GOP leader, and DeMint hoped the others would remain packaged together so they could be considered in a single vote.

But Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander of Tennessee took issue with the staffer and quickly called a vote on the term-limit proposal before DeMint decided to withdraw it. Then party leaders proceeded to call up each of DeMint’s other proposals separately, creating a long series of votes that DeMint lost badly.

“No doubt,” DeMint said, Republican leaders were “trying to humiliate” him.

But some Senate Republicans say privately that DeMint has done plenty to humiliate himself.

As Republicans seek a way forward after two disastrous elections, social and fiscal conservative activists off Capitol Hill are rallying behind DeMint because of his unrelenting style to force his party to return to its small-government, free market roots. DeMint, 57, said in an interview that he’s not dwelling on his previous battles with the GOP leadership and sees areas where his party’s leaders and the Obama administration can work together to solve the country’s problems.

DeMint’s critics, including senior Republican senators and top aides in the Senate, say his refusal to work within the norms of the body — by showing deference to party leaders and chairmen and building support behind closed doors without airing concerns first to the news media — undermines his ability to draw support for his cause.

Asked in early December for his thoughts on DeMint, Sen. Bob Bennett of Utah — a close adviser to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky — said: “I have no comment. That should be a comment in and of itself.”

I have to tell you, I am from SC and DeMint is one of my Senators...... He is without a doubt a TRUE Conservative Republican (not like our other senator who just got reelected, Lindsey Grahamnesty). DeMint is the epitome of the type of leadership that this party needs right now if they are going to return to their conservative ideals and bring balance back to our government -- sadly they reject his views and are trying to isolate and undermine him.......

Senate and Congressional Republicans are bending over so far backwards to "get along" with BHO and the boyz that they risk breaking the back of the party right down the middle.

Get a clue, Republicans, the dems are NOT going to compromise, they're going to ram their majority down your throats, and go out of their way to make you look like bad guys in the process.  TRY and remember what the hell it is to BE a Republican in the first place, and start ACTING like Republicans.  Call the dems out on their BS at EVERY opportunity.  Go on OFFENSE.......they sure as hell are.

And right now, when they think they're 10-feet tall and bulletproof following the last election is the time to strike!!  Don't worry so much about keeping your jobs, and start DOING your frickin jobs!!!

I'll step down from my soapbox now.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

When you are dealing with a cockroach you step on it.  I'm at the same place you are...and if someone tells me about all the good stuff I'm missing that the Republicans are doing then I say the Republicans are doing a poor job of getting the word out.  They were pretty good at getting the word out they were not going to the mat to see to it laws were enforced when they thought they could benefit from dodging the hard issues.

The Dems didn't compromise when they were the minority, any one who thinks they will work with real Americans now is an idiot. Every time they have told Rep's. "You do this for us and we'll do that for you" they have reneged .
Ask Old man Bush about it. It cost him his second term, and cost us 8 years of clinton.

Bingo!!!

And the 8 years of Clinton was partly due to Bush trying to "get along" with the democrats, and partly by Ross Perrott draining off voters who would most liely otherwise have voted for Bush.

The Party, or any Party can be whatever we want it to be.  We can take the GOP back to where we want it to be ... If we want to do the work.  All we need to do is what our Founding Fathers intended our leadership to be.

GET  INVOLVED  NOW !!!

We need to start with letters, phone calls and volunteering.  We need to support the organizations that speak for our values, and we need to keep those organizations speaking for and with us ... at our sides, not on our behalf.

We have lost a battle, but we have not lost the war unless we quit.

DON'T  QUIT  ON  THE  PARTY !!!

If we quit on the Party we will be alone in a boat in rough sea.

There is an old saying, "Dance with the one that brought you."  We need to be there for those still in office to "dance" with, and we need to bring more to the "dance" next time around.  Just as important, we need to inform everyone what kind of dance we are inviting them to.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

The RINO's are selfish and need to be voted out.  The party, as some depression era people say, is controlled by a wealthy few.  You are right...we need to get involved and push the RINO's to the dems where they belong.
