MB's Show #98 2/18/09
« on: February 19, 2009, 07:31:51 PM »
I was listening to MB's show on the iPod today, and had a couple of thoughts.

"It is what it is."  - funny, my idiot boss used that phrase today for the first time.

Another way to look at it - the way I thought MB was going - is we are in the situation we are in, deal with it. As we say out here in the West, Cowboy up. bho is Pres, it is what it is. bho, Holder, pelosi and the rest are coming for our guns - it is what it is. We've been dealt a really sucky hand - it is what it is, there is no changing what has happened, only what will happen.

Reminiscent of the guys in WWII - they did not want to be in Europe fighting Nazis or in some hell hole in the Pacific, but there they were. It is what it is. But - here's the point - they dealt with it. And we have to deal with it, with bho and the rest. We cannot allow them to trample our rights, so we contact the congress critters, we adopt the no shrug policy ala Gresham, we send letters to the paper - we deal with it! We gird our loins for the fights ahead - that's where I thought MB was going with the idea.

Chaos - reminds me of that old saying - the perversity of inanimate objects tends to a maximum. In other words, Mother Nature  is a bitch!
"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do this to others and I require the same from them"

It is what it is....hmm President Oprabama...it is what it is and I still don't like it

But I love the show this week especially with my current trying to get a feel for pistol sights as I continue to try various units at the range trying to decide what to buy.  Of course I think one issue there is I am trying to buy 1 gun that will do it all and that is basically impossible but I can get a reasonable set of compromises and keep myself on that single gun till I have invested in lots of practice and training and then figure what to do next.

One gun to "do it all" in a hand gun? .357 Mag. you can target shoot with .38's or take game up to Deer size with Magnum rounds. With speed loaders and practice you can reload about as fast as changing Magazines with crimson trace grips you have a laser option as well as iron sights and for carry a Ruger GP 100 isn't much wider than a Glock.

Yeah, I like .357 idea and I do think it teaches good skills.  Probably save money in that you aren't slapping a 18 round magazine (like the XDM) in an just firing away like a madman.
