I'm a Ramblin' Man......seaching for .380
« on: April 02, 2009, 08:47:40 PM »
amazing the shortage in ammo.  We've all been posting or starting threads about the subject.  Everywhere I go I get the same response...."Ain't gettin' no deliveries", "Wish I could help you son."

For the last few days I've been on the road for work and kept setting my GPS for anything that looks like a gun shop.  GPS's suck when it comes to locating current businesses though.

Anyhooo.. I stocked up on .380 ammo at a small gun shop that I never knew existed and found some Federal Hydra Shock at Dicks.   (Yes,  I said Dicks).

the cupboard is filling up with all the correct calibers....and all is right with my world.

Hey Green Mountains, while DRTV was "down", I searched and searched for ammo. .380 seems especially bad. Cheaperthandirt.com had 100 rds of PMC for almost $70.00! :o

It was awful. Everyone SOLD OUT.

There is a gun show here in Ft. Laud, that usually has a big Georgia Arms dealer that comes well stocked. We'll see.

Recon on another forum, had random restocking of .380 at Wal-Mart, Gander etc,... but people are not getting 1 or 2 boxes, their getting 5, 7 or all they got!

I hope it "calms the hell down", but if one goes to a store to buy ammo, and its not there, when they find it, they get ALOT.

Thus creating a double-edged scenario.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Hornady from Cabelas.  They had an exclusive on TAP-FPD in 380 (as I bought some), but it's not listed now.  They DO list Critical Defense Handgun ammo in 380.

Is it cruel to mention how much I love my Glock 9mm? But Overload is right. Gander does have the Hornady .380 critical defense for $20. This is on "sale', but the price is good until 4-20 (someone at Gander has a sense of humor). If they're not in your locale,
try them online.

I can't find any in stores, either. I just loaded up 200 rounds. Would have done more, but that's all the brass I had :(

That's ok. The only 380 I have, right now, is an LCP and that's not what I consider a shoot-a-lot piece.

I gotta agree.  They do bark.

The hydra shock says it is low recoil so I gotta try them out in my Elsie P.
