Sweeet, I go away for a few days and come back to find this  ;D. THANKS APEX! So now my only dillema becomes, enjoy making the boy whine and beg... or whine and beg myself "gee dear I got this really sweet set of parts, for free! too bad I don't have the right gun to use them on, sure would be a shame to see them go to waste". Anybody think I've got a snowballs chance?

I'd do both.  Beg your Money Management Specialist (A.K.A. Wife) to allocate the funds for the M&P and quietly tease the boy with the parts.

Why not have fun with it?  That kit could be worth a fair handful of mowed lawns.

Mowed lawns won't work. We're in Wisconsin and he's stationed on Camp Pendleton but I'm sure he'll come up with something to induce the old man to give up the goods. As long as he doesn't figure out that if he joins forces with his mother I'm screwed.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
