Magic Words by Thomas Sowell
« on: April 14, 2009, 09:48:53 PM »
Lincoln asked an audience how many legs a dog would have if you called the tail a leg.  Answer is 4, because calling the tail a leg doesn't make it a leg.

Today's commentary by Thomas Sowell reminds readers that just because you call something a particular name doesn't make it so.  Starts off about the Chicom selling US bonds but by mid article explains why "gun control" doesn't work.

Good article Alf, it just goes to show people need to simply use their brains for the purpose God gave them for. Sounds like 1984 in this nation, don't worry it's just kool-aid.

He sounds way too smart to even want to get involved first hand with the foolishness going on in DC.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison
