Alice Packs... frame grommets... do you know?
« on: April 19, 2009, 12:44:13 PM »
Okay.. I have a question about USGI Alice Packs. I figure someone on here probably knows.. so here goes. I am looking for a set of Alice Pack frame grommets, i.e. the black plastic pieces in the holes at the bottom of the frame where the shoulder straps attach to the bottom on each side. I've been looking around at surplus stores etc. In the old days all frames had them. These days some frames don't and I wonder/worry about the shoulder straps rubbing against bare metal. Anyway, I've never seen them for sale anywhere.. and I was wondering if anybody else out there knows anything about them.

These guys helped me and a partner of mine last year.

I hope it helps. They specialize in the "real" set up down to T-62 Rucksack configs. from the 60's

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
