Glad to hear it all worked out!  Sounds a lot like mom's cyst.  They gave her four shots of lydocane, but she said it never did a thing, or if it did she can't imagine how bad it would have been without.  She said they are predicting six months from first incision to final healing and back to normal.

Worse than everything else is the way she first found it was not pain.  It was a small lump just below her left armpit.  Five years ago she underwent surgery for breast cancer on the left side, so out of fear alone she quit talking to us and did not go in for three weeks.  By that time it was very large and painful.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

They did numb the skin slightly to cut me open but that doesn't help when they keep hitting bone. I was gritting my teeth not to scream out loud, and flopping around like a fish out of water. Doogie Howser would take his lolipop out of his mouth and say "sorry" then tear into my back again. It didn't kill me so I guess it made me stronger.  :-\  I can see how a cyst would be similar to what I had. I wouldn't wish it on anyone except my worst enemy. Okay, my 2 worst enemies.  ;)

That IS a pretty drastic way to get rid of a plantars wart, but I bet it won't come back.

I had a friend who shot the top half of his big toe off about 30 years ago.  He was hunting and
decided to take a short break and took a seat on a big flat area of ledge that was protruding from
the hillside.  He rested the barrel on the tip of his boot to keep it from getting scratched by the
rock.

As he rested he noticed a bit of dewey moisture was building up around the trigger....it was cold out
and he didn't want it to freeze up......apparently the safety was not engaged, and the barrel had slid from
the tip of the boot to a little below the tip and as he wiped away that moisture.......BOOM!

I've not seen the remnants of that toe in thirty years but I'm betting it didn't grow back.

All in all this fella was lucky.  He lost some meat and a heapin' of pride, but he still has his big toe.  If he got the whole thing he would be limping for life.
The person who has nothing for which his is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
