Remington Patrol Rifle???
« on: June 01, 2009, 08:37:54 PM »
This rifle came up in an earlier thread and I thought it was interesting. Its a pump action .223 that takes AR mags, and is appropriately "tactical". It's built on 870 frame and seems like a good way to get rapid fire, quick follow ups and avoid any sort of AWB, provided you stock up on clips,er magazines.  They make it in  .308 as the 760, but it looks like that model just  takes a box mag. If it took M1A mags, I'd probably be writing a range report. I've enclosed a link to the rem site that details the 7615. What are your thoughts?

I have no experience with the patrol rifle. If it is like my Remington 7400 it is not very accurate. My 7400 is 30'06 and only shoots 4-5 inch groups at 100 yards. It tends to string the shots as the barrel heats up and it heats up fast. I know the patrol rifle is similar construction. Don't get me wrong I love my 7400 for deer hunting it will get the job done and has got the job done. I am sure the 870 action will be flawless. I have a 870 and can't say anything bad about it. The 870 style pump action is one of the best in my opinion. I think the patrol rifle would be a decent rifle depending on what you want to do with it.
