July 4th Wishes
« on: July 04, 2009, 07:05:44 AM »
Maggie and I wish to express our best wishes to all of you proud Americans on this day when we celebrate our independence. We thank God every day that we were born in this great nation where we have the rights we have. We're also very happy and thankful to be associated with such a great group of citizens who are dedicated to exercising and protecting those rights. Happy 4th everyone!

                                               God Bless America
I got the blues as my companion.

"By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April's breeze unfurled;
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard 'round the world."

Happy Independence Day!

No words of wisdom this morning ...

Everyone - enjoy the day and most importantly remember the past!

And, remember the current heros serving us all over the world!
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

 The retreat from Bunkers Hill was covered by John Stark and the NH militia which had so severely pummeled the British left flank and broke 2 assaults by the most respected Army in the world, Gen. Stark, a former officer in "Rodgers Rangers", capped that achievement by commanding the force composed mostly of NH militia that defeated Burgoyne's British at the Battle of Bennington, which set the stage for Burgoyne's surrender soon after at Saratoga, effectively ending the war in the Northeast.
